Windsor Southwest Supervisory Union is committed to providing Universal Access to Preschool for all children, aged 3-5, whose families reside in the towns of Chester, Andover, Cavendish, Baltimore, Londonderry, Landgrove, Peru, and Weston. The Early Education Collaborative provides ten hours a week/35 weeks a year of publicly funded preschool in high quality early education settings.
All Preschool Providers must meet the following requirements set forth in Act 62 in order to be considered for partnership:
- Hire and maintain a Vermont State licensed early educator who works directly with children.
- Maintain four STARS on the Step Ahead Recognition System or be accredited through NAEYC (National Association for Educating Young Children).
- Document student growth through the Creative Curriculum Developmental Assessment or Teaching Strategies GOLD.
For more information on enrolling, contact the Director of the Windsor Southwest Early Education Collaborative, Daryl Houk, at 802-875-2146 ext. 255 or email dhouk@wswsu.org. You may also contact any of the member preschools directly. Preschool partnerships are renewed annually and are based upon the needs and desires of the communities we serve.
