Upon entering the home of Brad's host, one could notice a  
refreshing openness in China. Here, the family's religion was
clearly displayed. To China's credit, these were signs of religious
tolerance, even acceptance, where it was regarded a personal
matter. Meanwhile, there was no debate in the schools: religion
stayed at home; science was taught in the classroom without
compromise in the name of economic well-being and technological
