World Cultures To Live ABDCE Essay Rubric
Due 23 January 2009
Directions: Write a 1,000 word essay how Zhang Yimou's movie, To Live, relates to your life. The essay is to be written with an ABDCE structure (that is: Action, Background, Description, Climax, Ending). Each structural element should be composed with at least one paragraph of each (preferably more); for example, one or more paragraphs of action, one or more paragraphs of background, and so on and so on. Finally, the essay should end with a bookend (that is, a connection back to the beginning of the essay).
