"In Theory there is no difference between Theory and Practice. In Practice there is." - Yogi Berra
This famous quote certainly holds true for all forms of computer/electronic technology!
I came to Green Mountain Union High School in April of 2006, after 4 years as a computer technician/server specialist for the Keene, NH schools, and 3 years previous to that in the Wilmington, VT schools. I enjoy the challenges presented by the diverse needs of an educational environment, and strive to provide a current and reliable technology experience for students, parents, staff, and administrators.
I was born in Readsboro, VT, grew up in Orange, CT, and now live in So. Newfane. I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Babson College. In recent years I have been a Certified Apple Desktop Technician, and have attended many advanced training courses, including Apple Server Management and PowerSchool University.
Information Technology
Green Mountain Union High School operates on a network of approximately 200 Macintosh computers with centralized file servers. All machines are password-protected and managed to encourage appropriate educational usage. Users can access their files from any machine on the network, and have access to applications that are appropriate for their uses based on the location they have logged in.
PowerSchool, our student information system, is a state-of-the-art web-based database that enables sophisticated management of schedules, attendance, grades, health, state reporting, and other information critical to the day-to-day operations of a modern high school. This system provides online, password-protected access for students and parents. Please contact me if you need further information or assistance.
